Glencoe Surprise Marriage Proposal

Alex and Anja, two amazing photographers from Germany share a common passion for the raw Scottish landscape and make a yearly pilgrimage visiting places such as Glencoe and The Isle of Skye.
Alex got in touch with us about a year ago and filled us in on his plans to propose to Anja during a photo-shoot in the Highlands. All we had to do was find a cool place for their story to take place (not hard to find in Scotland).

We drive 1000’s of miles every year photographing weddings and elopements in Glencoe and the surrounding highlands and we’re always on the lookout for new and unique locations to photograph in. One location that had been on our radar for a long time was ‘The Lost Valley’, a really cool place hidden just behind ‘The Three Sisters’ in Glencoe and about a 3-4 hour round journey hike.

We arrived in Glencoe in the afternoon and met Anja and Alex for the first time in the car park and it was one of those situations where people turn out to be exactly as interesting, friendly and awesome as you imagine them to be. We got to know one another over 4 hours of walking and talking and it was a difficult to say good-bye at the end of the evening.

As wedding photographers, being able to witness and capture such an important, positive and emotional moment between two people is something that we’re both very grateful to have the opportunity to do… it honestly doesn’t get any better than this.
For us, this is what it’s all about.
