Cairngorms National Park Wedding

Life has gotten in the way of blogging over the last couple of years so it feels nice to be able to share some stories once again. This week we’re sharing a wonderful Cairngorms National Park wedding that I still smile about when I think of it today.
Laura and Adrian’s Scottish Cairngorms National Park wedding reminded me why I love being a wedding photographer! Their day was full to the brim with beautiful (and funny) moments experienced with parents, family, friends and it was particularly inspiring for me as a wedding photographer to capture this amazing story as it unfolded. It was really nice to witness and capture the close bond that Laura and Adrian had with their parents especially.
Laura and Adrian travelled from the USA and spent a few days unwinding and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Inshriach House in the Cairngorms National Park.
After a quiet morning getting ready with their parents, Laura and Adrian stepped outside for their first look. Hidden under some trees in a quiet place just a stone’s throw away from Inshriach House, Laura and Adrian laid eyes upon one other for the first time that morning and it was a beautiful moment to capture.
The forecast was predicting rain for later in the day for the Cairngorms so we decided to explore a nearby forest and sneak in a few pre-ceremony portrait photos before the weather changed. Meanwhile, back at the house, Laura’s friends and the amazing team at ‘Cause We Can Events were assembling an intimate table setup for the celebrations later in the evening.
When we returned, the skies had darkened and rain began to fall but Laura, Adrian and their friends were ready to fully embrace the Scottish weather with some umbrellas and warm coats at hand nothing was going to put a stop to their outdoor wedding ceremony. Together everyone walked to the tune of acoustic guitar towards a quiet spot by a nearby river and I have to say that it was one of the most memorable and unique moments I’ve ever captured at a wedding.

An emotional Cairngorms National Park wedding ceremony

The outdoor ceremony was conducted by Laura and Adrian’s close friend/family member and included moving readings from friends and ending with Laura and Adrian sharing some beautifully written words to one another.
After the ceremony had concluded it was time to warm up. Everyone huddled together around a warm bonfire with good food and beverages to get the evening celebrations started.
There was plenty of laughter and tears with some speeches during dinner and just before the sun went down, everyone moved outside for some dancing. It was difficult not to tear up during Adrian and Laura’s first dance with their parents.
