I am a Scotland-based photographer and videographer specialising in elopements and weddings in Scotland and abroad with over 500 weddings and couples photographed since 2012. I make photographs that help couples relive not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Hi, it’s really nice to meet you! I’m Dylan, an elopement and wedding photographer and videographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
My story with photography began many years ago while I was living in Australia. At the time, I was working as a pastry chef in Queensland, but I was missing a creative outlet. So one day, I decided to buy a DSLR camera. I developed a passion for street photography and portraiture, and very quickly became obsessed with photography.
A couple of years later I met the love of my life, Joanna. We got engaged after 3 months and then not long after that in 2011 we decided to take a leap of faith and move to Scotland. A year later we got married! Things moved really quickly but sometimes you just know when you know!
In 2012 I began shooting elopements and weddings and quickly fell in love with it. I have since been fortunate to capture over 500 weddings around Scotland and throughout the world.
While I’m travelling around Scotland and abroad capturing stories, Joanna is busy behind the scenes with post production and editing.
Today we live just outside of Edinburgh with our two sons, Bruno and Gustav. They inspire us every day to seek out the good in the world and they gave us a whole new perspective in life.
Away from weddings and photography, I spend a lot of time watching films and studying cinematography — a massive source of inspo for my work. I also love slowing down outdoors with my family and balancing everything out with time at the gym.
Capturing stories with my camera isn’t just a job – it’s my passion.

Cinematic Approach
For many years I’ve been heavily inspired by films and since the beginning 12 years ago, my goal has been to combine that love for cinematography with my love for wedding documentary storytelling.
My style in inspired by the cinematic techniques used in film.
For me it’s not just about photographing a wedding; it’s about creating a cinematic visual narrative that encapsulates the essence of you as a couple, the journey you’ve embarked on, and the real emotions shared on your special day.
I want your story to not only look like a beautiful movie, but feel like one too. From beginning to end.
I approach each wedding and elopement story with the eye of a cinematographer; always seeking out natural light, colour and composition to create evocative images that feel both timeless and imbued with the emotional impact of a cinematic frame.
Every couple has their own unique story. My role is to document your story with a perfect blend of candid photography (and a bit of direction), resulting in a collection of authentic images that not only reflect the day’s events but also the atmosphere and how it all really felt.
My passion for cinema and storytelling has shaped my approach to wedding photography, making each wedding I photograph not just a job, but a privilege.

Schedule a Call
Let’s get to know one another and chat all about your plans. I can also answer any questions you might have
Secure Your Date
After our video call I’ll send you a link to your client portal where you will be able to pay your booking fee and sign your contract online.
Planning & Support
I can help with booking other suppliers and crafting your timeline. A few weeks before the big day we will have another video call to chat and finalise everything.

The big day is finally here and I will be there to capture your story. Yay!
Delivery
Your photos are professionally edited and ready to download in high resolution via an online gallery 4-8 weeks after your wedding day.
