Elopement In North Spain
A misty and emotional outdoor ceremony
I’m excited to finally share the emotional elopement in north Spain of Ana and Stefano.
At first glance, you might mistake this landscape for the Scottish Highlands, but it’s actually the rugged, windswept coast of Cantabria in the north of Spain! Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and dramatic mountain ranges, Cantabria is known for its moody skies, lush greenery, and cool, misty weather—an absolute dream to photograph in.
Ana and Stefano, incredibly talented wedding photographers themselves and locals to the north of Spain, invited me to spend a few days with them and they were kind enough to show me their favourite hidden corners and restaurants of the region.
Their elopement morning began with the sweetest ritual—gathering flowers from their own garden. From there, they spent a slow, quiet morning getting ready together in their cosy hillside home, a beautifully restored barn they lovingly renovated themselves. Later, we took a short hike up a nearby mountain, where Ana and Stefano exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by sweeping views and nothing but the sound of the wind. It was intimate, relaxed, and perfectly true to them.
Capturing Ana and Stefano’s intimate elopement in north Spain was an experience I will always treasure.
