Hannah and Aaron travelled from the US to Scotland to celebrate their love in a way that felt true for them. Choosing an intimate elopement over a traditional wedding, they planned a day focused on connection, adventure, and the incredible landscapes that make Scotland such a magical place to get married.
Their day began in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, where they had rented an apartment for the morning. Rather than spending the time before their ceremony apart, Hannah and Aaron chose to get ready together. It was a slow, relaxed start to the day filled with anticipation, and quiet moments that they shared together.
An Emotional Ceremony At a Scottish Castle Ruin
After leaving Edinburgh, we made our way into the Scottish Highlands. One of the most beautiful moments of the day took place at a castle ruin where Hannah and Aaron exchanged their vows. Standing together in such a historic location, they shared tears and laughter in complete privacy. It was an incredibly emotional moment and one that perfectly captured the beauty of a real and intimate Scotland elopement.
As the sun started to fall, we continued deeper into Glencoe for portraits during the final hours of daylight. The Scottish Highlands delivered one of those rare evenings that all photographers dream about. As the sun began to descend behind the mountains, a layer of beautiful, moody fog slowly rolled through the valley. Combined with the last remaining golden light, it created an atmosphere that was truly unforgettable.
The conditions were nothing short of breathtaking. Being a Glencoe elopement photographer means embracing Scotland’s unpredictable weather, and sometimes if you’re lucky it rewards you with moments like this that simply can’t be planned.
